Store robbed in broad daylight

New Braunfels detectives are investigating a robbery from the Payless Shoe Source on Walnut Street Wednesday morning.A clerk at the store was told to hand over cash by an unidentified man who came into the store late in the morning, according to police spokesman Sgt. Mike Penshorn.
“At 11:17 a.m., a black male entered the store and demanded cash from the clerk,” Penshorn said. “He is described as 6-foot-tall, of medium build and having large, round eyes.”
Penshorn said that no weapon was observed, but the man left “with an unspecified amount of cash.” Police are describing the incident as a robbery.
Shortly after the incident, local law enforcement agencies attempted to locate a green SUV reportedly traveling on Farm-to-Market 306 towards Canyon Lake that was suspected of being connected with the reported robbery.
Penshorn said the vehicle was not found and investigators are unsure if there was an connection with the incident.
