Police: Officer accidentally shot victim

A police officer accidentally shot and killed a robbery victim this weekend, when he fired his service weapon at an armed suspect, authorities said Tuesday.
“This is absolutely, totally a clear case of justification of a police officer's actions,” District Attorney Susan Reed said at a press conference.
Police Chief William McManus said authorities alerted the media about the findings of their preliminary investigation to ensure transparency.
