However, how many more managed to escape detection?
Dozens arrested on drunk-driving charges
By Guillermo X. garci - Express-NewsRiver Walk patrons weren't the only ones seeing green for St. Patrick's Day — bail bond firms and city magistrate's officers had a booming business as San Antonio police made more than 30 DWI arrests citywide in a five-hour span late Thursday and early Friday.
Police and magistrate officers said the spike in drunken driving arrests roughly tracked the closing time of bars and coincided with late-night, Irish-themed festivities around town.
All told, 32 people were charged between 11 p.m. Thursday and 4 a.m. Friday, according to magistrate's office records. In addition to first-time driving while intoxicated charges, police logged evading arrest charges and several instances of people being arrested for second or third drunken driving offenses.
