A dethroned San Antonio beauty queen returned to the courtroom Wednesday, this time asking for a jury's help in reclaiming her crown.
Domonique Ramirez, 17, drew intense media attention last month when she filed a breach of contract lawsuit against Miss Bexar County Organization Inc., an offshoot of Miss America that runs the Miss San Antonio pageant.
Her attorney, Luis Vera Jr., pointed to local news organizations represented in the courtroom during opening statements Wednesday afternoon, explaining to jurors that his client's plight has attracted “worldwide” interest.
