A fight among members of the Texas Mexican Mafia who were in federal custody Friday sent one to the hospital and left three others under investigation.
Federal marshals did not release the name of the man, whose swollen and bloodied face was visible when paramedics carted him out of San Antonio's federal court. The man was conscious and talking to paramedics, and his injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
The man was among a busload of prisoners at federal court, a stopping point for inmates who are transported by the Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System, or “Con Air,” to Oklahoma to be distributed to federal prisons across the country.
