New Braunfels city workers, river outfitters and about 60 volunteers are hurrying to erase the wreckage from the flooded Guadalupe and Comal rivers before the July 4 weekend.
City officials still are assessing damages and applying for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
“July 4 is when we'll take a big sigh of relief and feel done,” New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department recreation manager Robin Kunkel said.
