Man hit by truck while fleeing police
By Michelle Mondo - Express-NewsA man believed to be involved in a theft at a Target store in Balcones Heights was hit by a truck when he ran from police and into traffic on Loop 410 on Saturday night.
The man, whose name and age weren't known, was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
A Balcones Heights police officer was in the Target parking lot for a theft call just before 9 p.m. when he yelled at the suspected thief to stop, San Antonio police said. The man bolted before the officer got back into his car. He ran across the access road, up the grassy shoulder and onto the main lanes of Loop 410 East, where he was hit by what appeared to be a moving truck.
