Murder suspect takes 30-year plea offer
By Zeke MacCormack - Express-News

The Ingram man whose murder trial in Kerrville ended in a mistrial on March 9 pleaded guilty Monday under a sentencing agreement, receiving a 30-year prison term for the slaying, authorities said.

Attorneys for Bryan K. Crum, 41, accused of fatally stabbing girlfriend April Kerr Barr in their trailer on Dec. 20, 2010, had vowed to fight a retrial on the grounds of trial misconduct by Assistant District Attorney Brad McCullouch.

However, defense counsel Patrick O'Fiel said Monday that Crum opted instead to take the state's plea offer.
