Kendall County sued by former clerk
By Zeke MacCormack - Express-NewsA former Kendall County clerk claims in a federal lawsuit that she was the victim of harassment, racial discrimination and wrongful termination by county officials, who she also claims interfered with her right to seek elected office.
Plaintiff Angela San Miguel, a former deputy county clerk, was terminated in May 2010 after going on a lengthy sick leave, during which she unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for the post of district clerk.
San Miguel's suit accuses County Clerk Darlene Herrin of trying to dissuade her from running, saying she'd lose and likening it to abandoning her job.
