Killed in the line of duty

Officer Sergio Antillon died in the line of duty.  Doing that which he was trained to do and what he wanted to do which was to serve and protect.

Rest in Peace, Sergio.  Rest in Peace.

Officer taken off life support dies

He entered the police academy a shy and respectful cadet whose lifelong ambition had been to become a police officer.

Transformed by 33 weeks of intensive training, Sergio Antillon left a confident and assertive decision-maker, academy officials said, someone whose academic proficiency and high marks for customer service heralded a long and promising career.

But less than two months into his career, the rookie officer was critically injured in a wreck, moments after stopping to help a stranded motorist. Surrounded by relatives, friends and co-workers, Antillon died Friday at University Hospital after being taken off life support.
