Police late Monday were investigating the fatal stabbing of a 52-year-old man outside of an East Side convenience store.
Sgt. Patrick Day said EMS crews responded to the 800 block of North New Braunfels just before 10:30 p.m. for a "down and out" call. When emergency responders arrived, they found the man lying outside of a convenience store stabbed twice, Day said.
"He's got one stab wound in the pec(toral) and one on the complete other side," Day said.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene a little more than 10 minutes after emergency crews arrived. As of late Monday evening, police did not have a motive or any witnesses to the stabbing.
"When officers got here, these two blocks were like a ghost town," Day said.
At 11:50 p.m., crime scene investigators had arrived to process the scene as police continued to investigate.
