For the first time since undergoing back surgery, Amanda Hernandez Garcia felt well enough last weekend to venture out of the house and do one of her favorite things: dance.
Within hours, she would be dead, hit while crossing a street by a woman suspected of drunken driving and leaving the scene.
“That lady doesn't know what she did,” said Juanita Guzman, one of Garcia's five sisters. “She cut a big hole in this family. Amanda was our world.”
