By Dalondo Moultrie New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung

NEW BRAUNFELS — Store surveillance cameras caught a woman stuffing a nearly $7,500 diamond earring down her pants and helped lead to her arrest Tuesday at a jewelry store in New Braunfels, a police spokesman said.

Eventually, Trisha Lynn Moorhead, 41, of McQueeney, reached into her pants and gave back the earring to employees at Ernesto’s Jewelry, 651 N. Business 35, said Capt. John McDonald of New Braunfels Police Department. He said officers arrested Moorhead and took her to Comal County Jail.

Employees at the store called police about 2:10 p.m. Tuesday and asked them to help with a suspicious woman employees believed to be trying to steal jewelry, McDonald said. He said employees told officers that Moorhead came in the store about 1:30 p.m. and looked at several pairs of diamond earrings.
