How apropos that the Bexar County Democratic Headquarters is located in a former funeral home.

They'll need it after the mid-term elections in 2010.

Campaign season under way

Wasting no time, top Bexar County officials on Thursday filed for re-election, the first day candidates could formally declare their political intent.

Locally, 54 positions, including the four area congressional seats, all 10 Bexar County state representative slots and 27 judicial posts, will be in play in March's Democratic Party and Republican Party primaries, in addition to the top five statewide offices.

Kicking off what could be a hectic campaign season, Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff and Commissioners Paul Elizondo and Tommy Adkisson were the first to file for re-election at the local Democratic Party's temporary headquarters, a former funeral home.
