Another highway death apparently no big deal to the Bexar County Jury who gave the teacher a "Hall Pass" on the Intoxication Manslaughter.

Teacher gets probation in DWI manslaughter
By Craig Kapitan
Jurors ordered probation Thursday for a teacher who killed another
motorist four years ago after getting behind the wheel at twice the
legal limit for alcohol and driving an estimated 95 mph on
Interstate 10.
Attorneys for Jose Castaneda, who was working at O'Connor High School
at the time and now teaches in Del Rio, said during closing arguments
that he would do society more good in the classroom than in prison.
Prosecutors had sought prison time for the intoxication manslaughter
charge, which Castaneda, 34, pleaded guilty to at the outset of the
trial. He could have faced up to 20 years in prison.
