NEW BRAUNFELS — Despite much lighter tuber traffic on the Comal River in recent weekends, the number of arrests and tickets for bad behavior by tubers continues to outpace last year’s figures.
New Braunfels Police Chief Tom Wibert told city council on Monday that the police department has made 260 river-related arrests this year and written 1,572 tickets.
That compares to 149 arrests and 1,433 tickets for the same period last year, he said.
