Death of ranch hand gored by exotic deer prompts suit
By Zeke MacCormack - Express-NewsKERRVILLE — The widow of a YO Ranch laborer fatally gored by an exotic deer there two years ago has filed a negligence lawsuit against the hunting ranch's partners.
The suit brought by Erin Buchi claims the defendants failed to properly train, supervise and institute safety measures for employees, causing the death of Brandon Buchi on Oct. 1, 2009.
Buchi, 27, of Kerr County was unloading a barasingha deer from a trailer for an auction at the Mountain Home ranch when the deer gored him in the side and thigh.
