Life preservers preserve life

Folks, please be more careful out there.  There have been eight (8) drownings in Canyon Lake so far this year.

Always wear a life preserver, also remember that you may be getting dehydrated and drink plenty of (non-alcoholic) liquids while out there.

Come to Comal County to enjoy yourself but please leave alive!

CANYON LAKE — Game wardens and Comal County sheriff's deputies on Friday recovered the body of a Converse man who drowned during a midweek boating excursion.

The body of Frederico Gonzalez, 60, floated to the surface at 12:15 p.m., said Capt. Danny Villalobos, a San Antonio-based Texas Parks and Wildlife officer. Gonzalez and Arnulfo David Gutierrez Tenorio, 36, of Toluca, Mexico, died Wednesday in the waters off Canyon Park.

Sonar-equipped boats have been trolling a large swath of water for two days, Villalobos said.
