Garrett takes Cowboys' reins
By Tom Osborn - Express-NewsARLINGTON — When he fired Wade Phillips at midseason, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he wanted to see “extraordinary effort” from his downtrodden team in the final eight games.
Thanks to Jason Garrett, Jones got that and then some.
Impressed by the way Garrett aced the audition in going 5-3, Jones removed the interim label from the Princeton graduate and officially made him the franchise's eighth coach Thursday.
