Mom takes bullet in buttocks, but thwarts robbers
By Jazmine Ulloa - Express-NewsA woman was shot in the buttocks Thursday in Castle Hills when two men tried to snatch her purse while she waited with her two small children at a bus stop.
The victim, believed to be 25, was taken to University Hospital, said James Cheatham, a Castle Hills police detective.
She had been waiting at a bus stop in the 5800 block of Blanco Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. when the men drove up in a gold sedan, got out of the vehicle and tried to grab her purse, Cheatham said. She told police she pulled her bag away and tried to protect her children, said to be between around 4 and 5 years old.
