Home is the hero

It was touching and moving to see all of the folks who turned out yesterday to pay our respects to a young man who died for us all.

Every generation produces men and women like him, those who stand in harm's way to protect us all, to protect our liberties, even including the liberty of the members of the fringe church in Kansas who no doubt will try to disrupt his funeral today.

Where do these heroes like John come from?  Regardless of where and how we are better off for it.

Rest in Peace John.

Folks young and old lined downtown streets in the processional route for the 20-year-old Marine, who was killed in action in Afghanistan eight days ago.
