Aryan Brotherhood captain pleads guilty in racketeering murder

An Aryan Brotherhood of Texas captain pleaded guilty Thursday for ordering the killing of a fellow gang member from Pleasanton suspected of stealing drugs meant for a gang customer.

At a hearing in federal court in San Antonio, Frank Lavelle “Thumper” Urbish Jr., 39, of Pasadena, pleaded guilty to committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering for ordering “discipline” on Mark Davis Byrd Sr.

According to court documents, Byrd was killed by ABT members Jim Flint “Q-Ball” McIntyre, 43, and Michael Dewayne “Bucky” Smith, 30, both of Houston. Byrd's body was discovered in Atascosa County on May 4, 2008.
