Ramos given 50 years; found guilty of tampering with corpse, criminally negligent homicide
NEW BRAUNFELS — Found guilty of criminally negligent homicide in the shooting death of Maria Gallegos, Daniel Ramos was sentenced Monday evening to 50 years in prison for tampering with her corpse after she died.

Ramos’ ex-wife’s vivid testimony that he beat her and brandished a knife at her and their son was central to testimony in the sentencing phase of the week-long trial.
