You cannot afford it.
Expect to see more state troopers on the roads locally and across the state between today and Labor Day as they launch a crackdown on drunken driving.
“What we're doing is putting every available trooper out on the roadways,” said Trooper Jason Reyes with the Texas Department of Public Safety. “Even those individuals who are usually behind a desk in the office will be on patrol.”
Reyes said grant funding from the Texas Department of Transportation allows the troopers to step up enforcement a week ahead of the holiday weekend.
