That would have been some withdrawal.

SOUTH YARMOUTH (Mass) - A 44-year-old man was arrested yesterday on charges he tried to make an automated teller machine withdrawal from Doyle’s Restaurant - the whole ATM.
Police said Jonathan Tanner of South Yarmouth allegedly tried to walk out of the restaurant with the ATM in his arms, but was stopped because he forgot to disconnect wires to the machine. Tanner went into the restaurant around 1:45 p.m. last Tuesday as others were dining in the Route 28 establishment.
According to the police, in full view of restaurant patrons, he grabbed the machine and tried to make an exit. Patrons began yelling for the manager. As Tanner struggled with the machine, the electrical cord went taut but did not dislodge from the wall, police said. The machine fell over, and Tanner left without it.
Witnesses told police before the alleged attempted theft, that they saw Tanner get out of a car stopped in front of the restaurant, pop the trunk and then walk into the restaurant leaving the trunk open. The car remained running and the driver did not exit the car, according to witness statements to the police.
Police tracked Tanner after tracing the car to an 80-year-old woman. Her son admitted driving Tanner to the restaurant, but told police he did not know that Tanner planned to allegedly try to steal the ATM.
Police said Tanner told them that he had gone into the restaurant to use the ATM, and became angry because the machine dispensed only $20 bills and he had only $10 in his checking account. Tanner told police that when he turned to leave the restaurant, the ATM caught on his coat and caused it to move then fall.
He was arrested yesterday following an investigation by Police Det. Russell Giammarco.
Tanner will be arraigned in Barnstable District Court this morning on charges of attempt to commit a crime, vandalism, malicious destruction of property and attempt to break into a depository - the ATM.
He was held overnight in a cell at the Yarmouth police station.
