C'mon, Rome wasn't in a day, ya know

It sure seems like this has been taking forever and I still am not seeing an end to it at all.

I doubt they can get finished by the proposed August 3rd date either.

Next week, Walnut Avenue project contractor Texas Sterling Construction will begin paying a $1,600-per-day fee to the City of New Braunfels for failing to finish the project by the agreed-upon date of April 3.

The Walnut Avenue Reconstruction and Improvements Project is now expected to be completed by Aug. 8, Octavio Garza, the city’s capital projects manager, told New Braunfels City Council on Monday.

Councilman Ron Reaves expressed concern that the contractor — in order to minimize fines — might hurry and not do satisfactory work. Reaves said he wanted city staff to ensure the work on Walnut is thoroughly inspected.
