Not a good thing for him, for Helotes or for law enforcement.
Ex-police chief of Helotes is sentenced to jail
By Craig Kapitan - Express-News
Former Helotes Police Chief Morton Howard Ault
took on a new role Friday — Bexar County Jail inmate — after a judge
ordered a six-month term for a $33,000 swindle involving police car
repairs.
Ault, 50, was escorted to a holding cell by deputies immediately after state District Judge Ron Rangel announced the incarceration — a condition of eight years deferred adjudication probation.
The defendant, currently a used car salesman, will be allowed to
leave jail during work hours. He also was ordered to continue paying
restitution to Helotes.
