3 found dead in West Side home

An elderly couple and a man were found dead, their corpses badly decomposed, inside a West Side house Thursday in what police called a double murder-suicide.
Officers received a call for a welfare check at the home in the 9600 block of Vale Drive about 8 a.m., Police Chief William McManus said. Inside, officers found the body of the woman on a bed, and the body of a younger man on the floor of another bedroom.
A second man was found in a living room chair. He apparently killed the other man and the woman using a .22-caliber rifle before turning the weapon on himself, the chief said.
