Vargas enters pleas in sex assault
A New Braunfels man indicted last year for sexually assaulting a young girl pleaded guilty Thursday morning in Comal County Court, his defense attorney said.
“He didn’t want to put his family nor the victim’s family through the misery of trial,” New Braunfels defense attorney Tom Clark said. “He had given a confession. He wasn’t hiding the ball or anything.”
Clark represented Samuel Vargas, 48. He said Vargas pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child in front of Judge Dib Waldrip.
