Officer honored for saving family from fire

Called a hero by those he saved, Police Officer Jeremy Swindells was honored Thursday for helping rescue a family of five from a house fire several days earlier.
Chief William McManus presented the nearly 13-year veteran with a certificate of merit during a news conference.
It marks the third time in Swindells' career that he's been publicly honored; he received both a Medal of Valor and a Law Enforcement Purple Heart in 2008.
