72-year-old man headed to medical appointment robbed, shot to death outside home
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -A 72-year-old man who was about to board a bus to go to a medical appointment was shot to death outside his Roseland neighborhood home early Saturday during an apparent robbery attempt, police said.
"He was 72-years-old, his birthday was just Sunday, last weekend, Sunday, he just turned 72," said William Strickland's son-in-law.
And now just days after celebrating life, Strickland's family members are planning his funeral after he was fatally shot steps away from his front door.
