Woman gets 20 months for stealing $1.6 Million

A former employee of a San Antonio heating and cooling services company was sentenced Friday to 20 months in prison for stealing more than $1.6 million through a forged-check scheme, and using some of the money at her trendy Alamo Heights fashion store.
Virginia O. Jakob, 45, apologized to Chief U.S. District Judge Fred Biery for her actions and told him she lost her husband as a result. The judge ordered her to pay restitution.
Jakob pleaded guilty last year to forging dozens of unauthorized checks she cashed while she worked for Airtron Heating & Air Conditioning.
