Midland County judge recuses himself from train wreck case

A Midland County judge has recused himself from the civil lawsuit that arose from a train crash that killed four war veterans during a parade in their honor in November.
Judge Rodney Satterwhite of the 441st District Court filed paperwork Tuesday but didn't offer an explanation of why he won't be hearing the case. He didn't immediately return a call seeking a comment.
“The judge stated in his paperwork that he was voluntarily recusing, and that's all I know,” said Judge Dean Rucker of the Seventh Administrative Judicial Region.
