Justice Down-Under

Pretty much a life-sentence for the 52 year old defendant.

Somehow I'm having trouble working up much, if any, sympathy for him.

IN THE last moments of her life, Janet Campbell must have realised she had made a terrible mistake in marrying Des. While she had been planning their future together, he had been planning her murder.

The end came six months after they secretly wed. On March 24, 2005, Campbell took his wife on her first camping trip. As the sun set over the Royal National Park, he pushed her off a 50-metre cliff.

He claimed she had accidentally fallen from their cliff-top campsite, but a Supreme Court jury was not convinced, and convicted the former police officer and paramedic of her murder.
