Self-taught healer needs remedial education apparently

I would imagine the punishment for pedophilia (or paedophilia) will be swift and harsh in Irkutsk.

Healer held for paedophilia

A self-taught healer was caught in bed with a teenage boy by police in Irkutsk after suspicions were aroused when the 55-year-old was always accompanied by the youngster.

The man, from Yekaterinburg, has not been identified, but he is said to have picked up a wide following across Russia for his texts on “technologies of consciousness”.

But once caught naked sharing a bed with the teenager his own composure briefly deserted him, Irkutsk cops said.

“At first the psychologist was discouraged and lost the power of speech, but he then explained that he was he did not see anything disgusting in such a sorry situation because he had only touched the child,” a police statement said.

Casting his web

The man’s texts on psychology have been widely disseminated online and he is well known. His devotees talking of miraculous healings, rejuvenation of the body and curing chronic ailments and diseases, RIA Novosti reported.

And that fanatical confidence helped him gain access to the children of his supporters, police believe.

“For helping out at his seminars and training sessions the minors were given cash rewards. The amount ranged from 2 to 3 thousand roubles. The fact that so many had boundless faith in their ‘mentor’ meant that relatives gave permission for children of 15 and 17 to travel with him,” the police announced.

His lust for young boys arose eight years ago, “At this time he found male adolescents in many cities and from time to time arranged intimate meetings with them,” police said.

Repercussions
The boy is currently in the care of child psychologists and specialists. There are a lot of questions for the parents, said police, especially why they allowed their son to spend the night with someone much older.

“Until the end of the investigation [the detainee] will be held in an Irkutsk pre-trial detention facility,” police announced. He is being charged under article 134 of the criminal code - having sex with a person under 16. If convicted he faces up to 4 years in prison.

Sexual mysticism
The case echoes that of Vladimir Plakhin, writer and supervisor of the ‘School of Sexual Magic of the Ancient Slavs,’ who is on the federal wanted list for the suspected rape of underage girls. Plakhin held classes in his Moscow apartment, imposing sexual abuse upon the girls in the guise of “patriotic sexual upbringing,” the Moscow prosecutor’s office told Interfax.
