Accused bomb-maker denied bond

It was an odd assortment of items agents sifted through, prying for clues about a series of bomb attempts: pieces of a pickle jar, feminine hygiene products, gasoline, beer bottles, fast-setting pastes and PVC pipe.

But at a hearing Monday, they helped convince U.S. Magistrate Judge John Primomo to order jailed without bond a San Antonio man accused of using the material to make explosives.

Raymond Edward Mynes, 47, sat quietly as a federal agent recounted the investigation that has netted Mynes and two others suspected in three bombing attempts at the Northwest Bexar County home of Tlahuilt Manuel Hernandez.
