Strife continues in small town of Rocksprings
ROCKSPRINGS — Stepping into a bitter political conflict that has divided this tiny Hill Country community for months and crippled its city government, a state judge this week removed a controversial member of the City Council.
On Wednesday, Judge Enrique Fernandez granted a summary judgment in a lawsuit filed by about 60 local residents, and voided the appointment of Eladio Rocha to the council.
The suit charged that the council violated the Texas Open Meetings Act on May 14 when it hastily met, without giving the public adequate notice, and filled the council vacancy.
