'Sexting' with a minor nets man 8 year term

A National Guardsman stationed at Fort Sam Houston was sentenced to eight years in prison Friday for sending sexually explicit text messages to a 13-year-old girl.
John Andrew Ramos, 30, was still in uniform as deputies led him out of the courtroom at the Cadena Reeves Justice Center and into custody. He pleaded guilty last month to online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree felony.
Police said Ramos met the teen through her mother, who was a co-worker of his wife. The child's mother went to police after finding the messages on her daughter's phone.
