Congratulations Gerry Rickhoff on your impending re-election

My two cents worth, or should it be $200,000 worth?

You shouldn't have jumped into this race. You should've said I'll pass to fix your party's house.

How could anyone vote for you? There are always thieves, you should've been more cautious about what was happening and investigated what was going on under your own nose.

You do your party a disservice by running and are harming other more viable candidates, who are also running, more than you have already.

Vela runs for county clerk despite controversy

By Gilbert Garcia - Express-News

Carla Vela looked deflated.

The outgoing chairwoman of the Bexar County Democratic Party expected to spend the middle of December smoothly handing over the party reins to her successor, clearing the way for her to mount a campaign for Bexar County clerk.

Instead, she found herself the focal point of a tense, hastily called Dec. 16 news conference in which she announced that more than $200,000 had been siphoned from a party bank account. Vela alleged the money had been taken by Dwayne Adams, who was elected party treasurer with her backing.

A month after that news conference, Vela, 64, said the firestorm surrounding the party's missing funds almost induced her to back out of the county clerk's race.
