I knew Sgt. Vann. We lost a good man and Sheriff's Deputy when he was murdered.
Be safe out there officers.
Killings of cops fueling concerns
By Dan Freeman - Express-News
WASHINGTON — It was after 2 a.m. and he was on his way to a nonemergency call when Sgt. Kenneth Gary Vann of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office stopped at an East Side intersection in May 2011.
Seconds later, a man who friends would later say had been drinking
and taking anti-depressants pulled next to Vann's car and opened fire.
Vann was hit multiple times with rounds from a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 .223-caliber rifle.
