San Antonio man guilty in bank fraud
By Guillermo Contreas
An ex-boyfriend of a former Compass Bank employee pleaded guilty Thursday to bank fraud for coercing the woman to embezzle $97,000 for him.
Anthony Regalado, 29, of San Antonio admitted he duped Angela Salinas, 20, to take the money because of her connection to the bank. Salinas pleaded guilty in January to bank fraud.
Their
plea deals said Salinas was a teller for BBVA Compass Bank in Alamo, in
the Rio Grande Valley, from July 2009 through August 2010. Salinas then
went to work for Atento, which provided contract employees for
Compass Bank.
