NEW BRAUNFELS — After being wanted by police several days for allegedly having had a sexual relationship with one of his female players, a former New Braunfels Christian Academy basketball coach turned himself in to authorities Tuesday.

According to a New Braunfels Police Department news release, Leon Eugene Sneed, 44, of San Antonio, showed up about 2:50 p.m. Tuesday at Bexar County Jail in San Antonio to be arrested on a warrant out of New Braunfels.

Sneed had been a wanted man since Friday, when he failed to turn himself in to NBPD detectives as agreed. He faces one count of improper relationship between an educator and a student-sexual contact.
