Moscow 'cannibal' asks for psychiatric help
The Moscow News -

An ex-butcher accused of murdering an acquaintance and eating parts of his liver is hoping to dodge jail on mental health grounds.

A Moscow court spokesman said that Nikolai Shadrin, 40, has denied murder, saying that the victim died of “other causes”, while his lawyer said the suspect needed mental health care rather than a solitary confinement cell.

Shadrin claims he cut up the corpse and scattered it across the city because he “did not feel sympathy” for the dead man, RIA Novosti reported.
