This will take a while to sort out. I am pretty sure there would have been a video camera in the booking area and we need to wait for the ME's report to determine what caused his death.
If the officers were responsible or used excessive force I am sure that the matter will be investigated and prosecuted by Susan Reed and her office if warranted and supported by the facts.
Use of force cited in jail death
Bexar County jailers forcibly restrained a new inmate shortly before the man died over the weekend, said a source familiar with the investigation.
San Antonio police transported Michael Wayne McKnight to Bexar County Jail on Saturday night after officers learned he had an outstanding assault warrant while responding to a disturbance in the 600 block of West Rosewood Avenue.
While Bexar County detention officers were booking the 28-year-old into the jail, McKnight was “uncooperative,” so the jailers took him to the ground and restrained him, said a police source who declined to be name because he's not authorized to speak to the media.
“He started to resist, and that's when all the county guys jumped on him,” the source said.
