Sex offender charged in rape of girl

A registered sex offender was arrested this week after being accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl while the child slept next to her mother, police said.
Michael Sanchez, 38, remained Friday in the Bexar County Jail on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Bond was set at $100,000.
