Man o man, what a mess.
Witness: Judge told to lie
Former Bexar County court Bailiff James Jackson testified Thursday that he gave a cover story to every single person who bought stolen Southwest Airlines tickets directly from him, including a judge and a former county courts administrator.
The stunning allegation that at least two officials were tipped off to the tickets' illegitimacy came at the federal trial of five people — three of them Jackson's former fellow bailiffs — accused of buying some tickets from Jackson and his wife, former Southwest administrative aide Althea Jackson.
By the close of testimony Thursday, however, James Jackson's story became a convoluted mess, frustrating U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia, who stepped in to question Jackson himself to get clearer responses or expedite the trial.
