An intoxication assault charge against a Kerrville man may be upgraded to intoxication manslaughter after the death of the bicyclist the suspect is accused of hitting last week on Texas 16 in Kerr County.
Dennis Heaviland, 38, was southbound May 29 when his pickup allegedly hit John Stronczek, 21, of Kerrville, who died late Friday at Wilford Hall Medical Center, said Kerrville police Sgt. Mary Krebs.

Jail records show Heaviland was released Friday from Kerr County Jail on $50,000 bond on the original felony charge of intoxication assault with a vehicle that caused serious bodily injury.
