Very bad, very sad

This is pretty reprehensible.

There should be a special place in jail for folks who steal in the name of charity.

Girl Accused Of Collecting Money In Scam Caught On Video

PARMA, Ohio -- Police said a 12-year-old girl is scamming hundreds of people out of hundreds of dollars claiming to be helping the sick.

The girl pretending to collect for the Multiple Sclerosis Society has been caught on video.

Parma police are working with police all around the state to try and find the girl. They're hoping someone recognizes her so they can stop her.

Molly McGhee's sports pub in Strongsville is helping police try to find girl caught on their surveillance tape.

Police said the 12-year-old goes by the name Victoria Tanner.

She promises Cedar Point season passes with every donation.

She's made her way from Sandusky to Mansfield. Strongsville and Parma were her latest targets.

Bob Sonnabend was having lunch at a Strongsville restaurant when he saw Victoria walk in and ask for permission to get donations. When she made her way to his table, he said he gave her $20.

"She asked a friend of mine sitting at the table for a donation also. He didn't have the $20 to give her. She said she would put in 10 toward it because she had to make I think it was like $50," Sonnabend said.

"And the girl that was sitting with us gave $7 and she says well she'll put the other $3 in so she could a total of $50, so I felt sorry for her and I gave her another $3."

Parma police said the owner of All Paws Pet Grooming Salon on State Road wrote an $80 check to help out.

"You can't get a one-day pass to Cedar Point for $40. The bottom line here is, these people are being taken for a ride before they even get to the park," Parma police detective Marty Compton.
He feels terrible for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. He said they are the real victim.
"Somebody is coaching her with this. She was very sharp and had all the right answers. She gave us receipts and gave us everything," Sonnabend said.

Police are asking anyone with who may have seen Victoria or know anything about her to call them.
