Braggin' rights.

Open mouth, insert foot.

Imagine, if you will, someone sitting around bragging he had committed armed robbery of a motel and had stolen $3,000.00.

Than you Mr. Lloyd for helping us make our case.

Police arrest suspect in hotel armed robbery
By Mitzie Stelte

New Braunfels Police arrested a man Wednesday for an armed robbery that occurred Friday at the Rodeway Inn located at 1209 IH 35 North. Sgt. Mike Penshorn said Harold Lee Lloyd, 25, of New Braunfels has been charged with aggravated robbery after evidence and information obtained through interviews linked him to the robbery.

According to the NBPD, law enforcement responded to the Rodeway Inn at about 4:45 a.m. and were told by the night clerk that a black male wearing a dark beanie hat and a blue bandana over his face pointed a black .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol with a silver tip at him before approaching the register and taking cash. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

On Sunday, the NBPD received a call from a man who said Lloyd had been bragging about stealing $3,000 from a motel in New Braunfels and might be planning to rob a truck stop.

NBPD conducted surveillance on Lloyd’s home, and on Monday, witnessed him leave with three others in a Mitsubishi Gallant. Police followed and pulled the vehicle over for a broken brake light.

The driver was arrested for DWI, while Lloyd — who was found with a black .45 caliber Ruger semi-automatic and a backpack containing a mask, blue bandana, and cloth glove — was arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon. The two others were arrested for marijuana possession.

Lloyd currently is being held at the Comal County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
