What goes up, may stay up

I got stuck in an elevator for 45 minutes once, by myself and it had blacked out. So after calling for help on the phone I laid down and took a nap.

Nothing like what happened to these two poor women.

Local Women Trapped In Elevator For 2 Days
Two Were There To Clean Empty Office Building

NILES, Ill. -- Getting stuck in an elevator with no way of reaching anyone is a nightmare scenario for many, and it was reality for two suburban Chicago women.

Beata Bartoszewicz said she and her mother went to clean a Niles office building days before Christmas. They stepped into an elevator and hit the button. Nothing happened.
They didn't have a cell phone, so they couldn't reach anyone. And the building wasn't due to open until after the holiday.

After two days, they felt dizzy from hunger. The 25-year-old said she began to think they might die.

Luckily, two people happened to come to the building on Dec. 24 and heard them scream. Fire department crews freed them hours later.

Bartoszewicz said the moral to the story is to always have a cell phone with you.
